2016 Acura ILX Reciew

For 2016, Acura ILX will be refreshed front and rear end treatments, including new LED lights, to look sharper. Base 2.0-liter engine is no longer available, so the previously optional 2.4-liter engine is now standard in every ILX, and this year produced some extra torque and is equipped with eight-speed automatic transmission. Lastly, there are some new safety features available, including a blind-spot warning system, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping assist, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control and back-up camera multiview. In a growing class of entry-level luxury sedan compact, Acura ILX has not had its prominent moment. In recent years, ILX behind competitors because the base powertrain excited and lack of safety features that are available to match the competition. For 2016, however, Acura ILX received a series of updates that aims to bring it into line with the rest rivals premium-brand its cheap.

2016 ilx review

For starters, the 2016 ILX comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that was optional in the past. Engine that gets a small increase in torque, and is now paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission rather than the six-speed manual. Along with updates to power, 2016 Acura ILX got some new security features including multiview rear camera standard and optional items such as blind-spot warning system and adaptive cruise control with collision mitigation frontal. As icing on the cake, the ILX is priced lower than some of the top contenders, and in its size class, the rear seats are quite accommodating for adult passengers. Nonetheless, many weaknesses persist. The quality of materials, for example, may not be what you expect, because a lot of the surface you will come in contact with on a regular basis do not feel like they are up to snuff for a luxury sedan. Basically, there is not much in the cabin which makes it stand out from Honda ILX complete. Acceleration is warm unless you like taking the engine to redline, and the road noise is a persistent problem. For tech-savvy buyers, things are not perfect, either. 2016 Acura ILX gets an additional screen in the center console of this year, however, while the graphics are fun, function leaves little to be desired. System from Audi and BMW is much more user-friendly.

Thus, you will want to see some excellent alternatives in this price range before making a decision. Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is more expensive and not roomy in the back, but the engine is more powerful and more refined interior makes them seem more worthy of the status of a luxury sedan. The main larger sedans such as the Ford Fusion and Honda Accord may not look fancy at first, but trim levels over loaded-up they could become a very respectable alternative to ILX. In the end, we are pleased that the improvements this year 2016 Acura ILX has moved up a notch. But entry-level model is still work cut out if they want to stand out from the crowd. 2016 Acura ILX luxury sedan entry-level equipment comes with six different levels: basic, AcuraWatch Plus package, the Premium package, A-Spec Package, Premium and A-Spec package. and the Technology Plus package. Standard equipment for the base model includes 17-inch wheels, sunroof, LED light automatic, heated mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, leatherette upholstery, eight-way driver strength seats, heated front seats, a backrest rear fold-down, automatic climate control dual-zone, 5-inch information screen, rearview camera multiview, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, and a sound system six-speaker CD player, USB / iPod audio interface and radio Pandora and Siri Eyes smartphone Free application integration. With AcuraWatch Plus package, you will get all the basic equipment ILX plus adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning systems, automatic braking to mitigate frontal collision, a lane departure warning system, lane-keeping assist and mitigation departure path.
Premium Package builds on the standard equipment the basis of the car as well, but eliminates equipment AcuraWatch Plus as a substitute for monitoring blind-spot, rear cross traffic, front seat leather, four-way power seats passenger memory settings driver mirror auto-dimming rearview mirror, the view information on 8-inch, 7-inch touchscreen and an additional seven-speaker audio system with HD radio, satellite radio and smartphone app integration Aha radio. Further up the ladder, Technology Plus package adds the contents of the package AcuraWatch Plus and Premium packages and 10-speaker audio system ELS, voice commands, navigation and guidance systems for the rearview camera. You can add A-Spec package for both Premium and Technology Plus package equipment line to get 18-inch wheels, fog lamps, rear spoiler, side sills and simulated-suede seat inserts with contrasting stitching. Powering the base 2016 ILX is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 201 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. Eight-speed automatic is the only transmission available. EPA estimated fuel economy stands at 29 mpg combined. 2016 Acura ILX comes standard with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. A rearview camera is also standard.

Optional equipment includes frontal collision warning systems, automatic braking for frontal collision mitigation, lane departure warning system, lane keeping assist and mitigation of road-departure. Although there are some improvements to styling, interior ILX 2016 largely carry over from the previous year. That means that the material is still not really much better than what you'll find in the main saloon such as the Accord, although everything seems screwed together quite well. Instead, Audi A3 feels much classier and more luxurious inside than ILX. You get quite a lot of features, though. Premium and Tech Plus models benefit from a new, larger touch screen in the middle of the pile. Even with a larger screen is optional, however, the setup ILX not our favorite. It divides the audio and navigation functions into two screens, and control buttons in the center of the dash is less intuitive to use than the armrest-mounted controller in the ILX rivals Germany. Special attention is used in designing the seat, which is supportive, but not too strong or limiting. The ILX also quite spacious for a compact car, with a decent amount of space behind the seats. However, the headroom can be comfortable for 6-footers because the standard car sunroof.

Luggage space, at 12.3 cubic feet, on average, and opening a little cramped. The rear seat folded down for easy carrying old stuff, but the rest are not divided to allow a mixture of long cargo and passengers or two in the back seat. In previous years, we would have preferred a 2.4-liter engine ILX on the basis underwhelming 2.0-liter engine, so it's good to have a larger engine standards this year. Better yet, you can finally get this engine with an automatic transmission, something that most buyers would want in this class of car. However, the 2016 ILX is hardly a speed demon, and the engine has to work harder and rev higher than most competitors to speed with the authorities. Steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters eight-speed automatic transmission and rev-matched downshifts turn on the driving experience, but we noted a few hiccups low speeds in fully automatic mode. 2016 Acura ILX's ride quality is also disappointing. Car reacts rigidly on a rough surface, but it was too soft and wallowy when faced dips major highways. Road noise is also higher than the average for this segment. In both cases, the Audi A3 is more refined and fun to drive. Around it turns out, the ILX precise steering helps the car feel sporty and direct, but limit handling and fun-to-drive nature that is ultimately simple for the segment.
